Over 3000 years ago the art and science of Feng Shui emerged in China. At its root, it's a complex art that focuses on balancing the energies in a
given space. The belief is such that if the energies are balanced appropriate in the space good health and good fortune will come to those who live
in the space.
Feng means wind and shui means water. Since both of these are associated with health in the Chinese culture it is important to have good feng shui rather
than bad feng shui which lends itself to bad luck. Feng Shui is based on Taoist belief that all of our world is alive and filled with energy.
Here are 3 ways you can get started with good Feng Shui in your home.
Get Rid of Clutter
If you do not use it regularly, love it or need it, clear it out. Dealing with too much clutter is a time and energy sucker. Having to clean, organize,
or move unnecessary items all the time will consumer your extra time and mental energy. Reduce your baggage literally and physically by taking the
time to clean your space.
Light and Air
Air and light are two elements that are needed for good Chi (energy) in your home. So how do you get the good stuff? Open the windows often and bring in
plants to purify the air. Open the blinds and make sure that no windows are blocked to allow as much natural light in as possible.
Details around your home play a part in good feng shui as well. Make sure that things that are broken around your home are fixed. If you have a home office
position your desk facing the office door so that you can be ready to encounter new opportunities. Encourage learning by keeping books where you can
see them. Keep your entryway clear and clean.
